West Yavapai Guidance Clinic Announces New Name: Polara Health

There’s a new star on the horizon. Since 1966, the people of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic have walked alongside community friends and families as they journey toward strong mental health and behavioral health wellness.

During the rebranding process, they were fortunate that the Taproot Foundation agreed to support the project. Taproot partners non-profit organizations like Polara Health with experts who provide their services pro bono. As a result, they worked with an amazing designer, Troy Johnson, who helped the organization’s thoughts and ideas come to life.

“What a fun journey this has been. I am so grateful for all of the support provided by our community partners, our partner advisory council and our board,” said Polara Health CEO Tamara Player. “While our name is changing, it is important for our community to know that we have the same caring staff, providing the same great services.”

“I commend our CEO, Tamara Player, for her inspirational leadership in growing our organization and providing state-of-the-art healthcare technologies to our patients,” said Governance Board President Stephen Polk. “Our new name conveys our mission of providing high-quality mental and behavioral health services to children, adults and families.”

“The Board of Trustees is very pleased with the change of our name to Polara Health,” said Governance Board of Directors Vice President Dr. Robert A. Thompson. “Certainly, there is pride and reverence for the great work and dedication of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic to our communities over the years. That legacy is solid. However, as we move into the future, Polara Health signals an even larger commitment to the patients and families that we serve. The Board of Trustees embraces the concept of Polara Health. The promise that this new name embodies is one of constant devotion to deliver more broad-based services focused on holistic care.”

Governance Board of Directors Treasurer Meredith Peabody said the rebranding effort of the clinic was not taken lightly. “It was a concerted effort that took almost a year to develop and included not only the staff, but members of the Board of Directors, our clients and our community. West Yavapai Guidance Clinic has been successfully serving our community for 55 years. To better meet the needs of our community, we felt we needed to rebrand the organization to allow the flexibility to expand the services that we offer and the clients that we serve. ‘Polara Health’ better represents how we see our

organization serving our community. With Tamara Player joining the organization as our new CEO, it gave us the opportunity to take a fresh look at the clinic. Our new name represents the foundation for strategic growth and expanded services in the future.”

Polara Health is still comprised of the same amazing people serving the same amazing communities with a vast array of services for children, adults and families suffering from mental and behavioral health challenges.
